On March 7, 2000 the Governor General of Canada, Her Excellency the Right Honourable Adrienne Clarkson visited Old Crow.

Old Crow Airport Governor General Adrienne Clarkson arrived at the Old Crow airport at 10:30am and was greeted by Vuntut Gwitchin Chief & Council, RCMP Constables Bill Beiersdorfer and Tom Wyers, Old Crow Canadian Rangers, and members of the community.

Mme Clarkson met with and was given a tour of the nursing station by nurses June Johnson and Catherine Dalgarno and Marion Schafer, Community Health Representative.

Mme Clarkson with Malinda Bruce and Dale Kakfwi After completing the tour of the nursing station, Mme Clarkson visited the Chief Zzeh Gittlit School. She was greeted by Patti Tetlichi, Theresa Frost, Danny Kassi, Phares Thomas, Shirley Kakfwi, Andrew Charlie, and students Dale Kakfwi (age 12) and Malinda Bruce (age 11).

Dale Kakfwi presented Mme Clarkson with a pair of beaded gloves created by Old Crow Elder, Fanny Charlie. Mme Clarkson was given a tour of the school by students Dale Kakfwi and Malinda Bruce.
