Yukon IT Conference and Exposition

Vuntut Gwitchin Information Systems staff attended the second anual Yukon IT Conference and Exposition. The event was held in Whitehorse on October 18-20, 2001. This years theme was Networking Yukoner's, Information Technology and Opportunity.

Ed Schultz, CYFN Grand Chief stated in his presentation to the conference delegates: "First Nations are narrowing the digital divide by playing a more active role in planning new technology and by bringing broadband access to all people in their communities".

YKNet and VGFN shared a booth at the exposition portion of the conference.

YKNet is Old Crow's internet service provider and hosts our website. Pictured left is Rick Steele, Manager of YKNet and Barbara Abel, VGFN Computer Support Technician.
