Day one of the special GA included presentations by the Vuntut Development Corporation (VDC) and Pelly Construction of Whitehorse, Yukon. The VDC is proposing a partnership between the VDC and Pelly Construction. The new company will be 51% (majority owned) by Vuntut Development Corporation and 49% owned by Pelly Construction.The basis for this partnership is to supply equipment, expertise and training for capital projects outlined in the Old Crow Capital Plan.
Pelly Construction is the largest Yukon Construction company with excellent management expertise, training programs and many years of local and international experience. Pelly Construction is willing to share the risk in this company and is willing to provide training and job opportunities in other projects for Vuntut Gwitchin citizens.

DAY 2 - Sunday January 12, 2003

There were two resolutions passed at the Special General Assembly. The first resolution gave VGFN Government the direction to move forward with community consultation on approving the Old Crow Capital plan.
The second resolution authorized the transfer of 1.5 million dollars to the Vuntut Development Corporation (VDC). These funds will be used by VDC for such things as, investment into a partnership with Pelly Construction, Guaranteed Investment Certificate, operating funds for the VDC, and continuation of the wind monitor project on Crow Mountain.

The data at the station can then be accessed via modem by technicians in Whitehorse.
